Dr Ulrike Lorch is a Co-Founder and Medical Director of Richmond Pharmacology. She holds Specialist Accreditation in Pharmaceutical Medicine and is a Member of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (UK) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (UK). Dr Lorch is Educational Supervisor for physicians participating in Pharmaceutical Medicine Specialist Training.

Dr Lorch has more than 10 years experience in conducting Early Phase clinical research. She has been Principal Investigator in more than 120 studies at Richmond Pharmacology and Co-Investigator in more than 100 further studies. She has special expertise in First-into-Human studies, early phase clinical trials in healthy volunteers and patients of all ages, ethnic comparison studies, Thorough QT, pain and gastrointestinal pH monitoring studies.

Jointly with her colleagues at Richmond Pharmacology she was instrumental in obtaining Standard and Supplementary MHRA Phase 1 Accreditation for the two Richmond Pharmacology research units. As one of the Principal Investigators at Richmond Pharmacology she is accredited to conduct all types of Phase 1 studies, including those that –due to potential risks- require review by the Expert Advisory Group in addition to the standard review by the MHRA.

Dr Lorch is a member of the British Association of Pharmaceutical Physicians (BrAPP), the Association for Human Pharmacology in the Pharmaceutical Industry (AHPPI, UK), the Phase 1 Advisory Group (National Research Ethics Service, National Patient Safety Agency, UK), the Japanese Society of Pharmacology and Therapeutics and the Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Angewandte Humanpharmakologie (AGAH, Germany).
