Speakers

World-leading expert speakers from St George's Hospital Medical School and the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Authority (MHRA) provided attendees with the opportunity to learn more about the latest in evaluating the QT interval and its relevance within new medicine development.

Professor John Camm

Professor Camm is Chairman of the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences and the Division of Cardiological Sciences. His key interest areas include clinical cardiac electrophysiology, cardiac arrhythmias and implantable devices for rhythm control. Professor Camm has given over 1000 lectures to international audiences and is internationally recognised for his contribution to research and teaching. He is currently Convenor of Medicine, University of London and Chairman of the Joint Cardiology Committee (Royal College of Physicians).

Dr Elijah Behr

Dr Elijah Behr is a Clinical Research Fellow at the Department of Cardiological Sciences, researching Sudden Adult / Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS), and has written two publications on the subject. Dr Behr is also conducting non-invasive electrophysiological studies on the behaviour of repolarisation parameters under the influence of proarrythmic drugs. He teaches pre-clinical and clinical medical students and is widely respected for his knowledge and insight into ventricular repolarisation.

Professor Marek Malik

Professor Malik is the Professor of Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Department of Cardiac and Vascular Sciences. He is a member of a number of Scientific Societies and sits on numerous editorial boards, including Heart Rhythm, Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, PACE and Cardiovascular Engineering. He has also authored or edited several monographs on electrocardiography and electrophysiology.

Dr Rashmi Shah

Dr Shah is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine, where he sits on the Examining Board. He was involved in drafting the CPMP guidelines on drug-drug interactions, and clinical trials with cardiovascular medicines. Dr Shah is the EU/EMEA nominated Expert at the ICH E14 Topic on QT interval and represents the UK at the CIOMS Working Group on Pharmacogenetics.
