Volunteer Recruitment Database

RPL's Volunteer Recruitment Database (VDB) is a bespoke system designed to allow the entire journey of a volunteer to be tracked - from initial registration through study conduct to final follow up. This ensures that all information on our volunteers is available at the click of a button, allowing us to provide you, our sponsors, with accurate, up to date metrics on those volunteers you need for enrolment in your studies.

A few facts:

  • Over 79,000 registered subjects to date (June 2008) !
This includes, but is certainly not limited to, populations such as healthy young male and female, elderly, slim, obese plus various patient and specialist populations - e.g. Japanese volunteers, asthmatics, diabetics, MS patients, those on warfarin and renally impaired subjects...
  • On average between 1200 to 1500 subjects are registered per month
  • Ongoing recruitment marketing campaigns direct volunteers to one of our three dedicated recruitment websites, www.trials4us.co.uk, www.trials4japanese.co.uk, www.trials4patients.co.uk.
  • The database has an activity level of approx 75%. I.e.75% of the population are currently actively looking for trials or are involved in trials

Finally, we have a significant number of volunteers who are repeat trialists due to the broad portfolio of trials which we recruit for and because the treatment they receive within our unit is of a very high clinical standard.

Here are a few examples of comments received from our volunteers:

"The clinical staff and doctors are first class in every way. The trial was a real success"

"The staff are lovely and helpful, if you have any problems they help you out. I would recommend trials4us to my friends because it's a good paid holiday; also I give the facilities a 10 out of 10"

"...the facilities are excellent; I give them 10 out of 10! I would definitely recommend trials4us to my friends; it's a fun safe way to earn a very good amount of money"

"During the day on the ward I like to use the computer, read lots of magazines and talk to friends who are also volunteering in the trial. I think that the staff at Trials4us are wonderful"

"During the day I spend my time reading books, surfing the internet, watching movies, playing card and board games. The staff are excellent, I really love the staff. The facilities are excellent, I would give them 9 out of 10"
