Richmond Pharmacology, the London-based contract research organisation and global leader in early phase clinical trials, announces the appointment of Dr Daniel Chapple PhD FCIM as Commercial Director.
In this role, Daniel will oversee sales, account management, proposals, contracts and marketing – including participant recruitment marketing activities – supporting Richmond's continued growth and the expansion of its clinical trial services.
Daniel joins Richmond with more than 25 years of commercial leadership experience across the life sciences sector, spanning clinical development, patient engagement, technology and consultancy organisations. Most recently, he served as Chief Business Officer and Chief Partnership Officer at DontBePatient Intelligence. Prior to this, he held senior commercial leadership positions at Alira Health, Innovative Trials, Cognizant and ICON.
During almost a decade as Chief Commercial Officer at Quanticate, Daniel led the commercial function through a period of significant growth, helping the company secure a place in The Sunday Times Fast Track 100 and win a prestigious Scrip Award.
Daniel began his career in scientific research, completing his PhD at Guy's Hospital, London. His doctoral research focused on naturally occurring antimicrobial peptides, and he subsequently worked as a post-doctoral researcher and lecturer in nutraceuticals, anti-infectives, microbiology and molecular biology before transitioning into commercial leadership. He continues his academic involvement as a visiting lecturer and research supervisor at King's College London, specialising in patient engagement, and serves as a member of a Health Research Authority Research Ethics Committee.
Dr Jorg Taubel, CEO and Co-Founder of Richmond Pharmacology, said: "Daniel brings a unique combination of scientific expertise, commercial leadership and a deep understanding of the clinical research landscape. His experience working across CROs, patient engagement and technology organisations will help us strengthen our relationships with sponsors, expand our service offering and support the next phase of Richmond's growth. We are delighted to welcome him to the team."
Dr Daniel Chapple commented: "Richmond Pharmacology has built an outstanding reputation for scientific excellence and innovation over the past 25 years. I am excited to join the organisation at a time of significant opportunity and growth. My focus will be on strengthening partnerships with sponsors, enhancing the client experience and helping to expand Richmond's role in delivering high-quality clinical research that ultimately benefits patients."
In his new role, Daniel will lead Richmond's commercial strategy, supporting the organisation's continued expansion and helping more sponsors access Richmond's expertise, diverse participant population and proven track record in clinical research.
