
Dr Edward Jackson leads Richmond Pharmacology's non-interventional studies with a focus on AI and Real-World Evidence (RWE) as Medical Director. He is responsible for the strategic direction and operational delivery of observational studies, while leading the development of Richmond's RWE capability.
He brings a distinctive background spanning analytical science, clinical medicine, and drug development, with experience across Phase I–III studies in both healthy volunteers and patient populations. Prior to his current role, Edward was Associate Medical Director at Owlstone Medical in Cambridge, where he contributed to the development of breath biomarker research and In-Vitro Diagnostics, strengthening his expertise in translational medicine and real-world clinical applications.
Edward joined Richmond Pharmacology in 2021 as a Research Physician, progressing to Associate Medical Director before returning as Medical Director in November 2025.
He qualified in medicine with Honours in 2015, holds a PhD in Analytical Sciences and an MSc in Analytical Biosciences and Drug Design. He is published across multiple research areas, with a full list of publications available via ResearchGate.
At Richmond Pharmacology, Edward is leading the expansion of the organisation's real-world evidence capabilities, combining clinical expertise, AI-enabled technologies and observational research to generate high-quality evidence that supports drug development, improves patient outcomes and informs healthcare decision-making.
