
In 2001, Professor Kaski was awarded the degree of Doctor of Science (DSc) by the University of London. He is also Honoris Causae Professor, Universidad del Salvador, Buenos Aires, and Honorary Professor at the following universities: University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, University of Milan, Catholic University, Rome, University of Salamanca and University of Seville.
At present, he is Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, the European Society of Cardiology and several other scientific societies. He was recently awarded the Gold Medal of the Spanish Society of Cardiology, the maximum distinction awarded by the Society, in recognition of his contribution to research and teaching.
Prof. Kaski was Chairman of the Microcirculation Working Group of the European Society of Cardiology. He is associate editor of several cardiology journals and a member of numerous editorial boards in major peer review scientific journal.
J. C. Kaski is the Professor of Cardiovascular Science St George's, University of London and Hon. Consultant Cardiologist at St George's Hospital Trust. He is also the Director of the Cardiovascular Biology Research Centre, and Deputy Head, Division of Cardiac and Vascular Sciences, St George's, University of London as well as the Director of Cardiology Undergraduate Teaching.
Professor Kaski's research focuses on Angina Pectoris, particularly mechanisms of rapid coronary artery disease progression, inflammation and atherogenesis, biomarkers of cardiovascular risk, and microvascular angina.
Professor Kaski lectures extensively in International fora and his achievements in teaching and research have earned him International reputation. He has published over 350 papers in peer-review journals, 250 invited papers, 100 book chapters, three books and over 500 abstracts.
